Careful what you wish for, and you know why.
When it was cold and rainy, I said I wanted tank top weather. And it’s supposed to be 100 today!
I solicited requests, and BAM! I got a bunch. Some more obscure than others, some less so, some sent in their own MP3s! Hey, whatever works. It’s an action-packed week. We’ve got B.B. King, but he’s on piano, not guitar. Another sloppy Sheryl Crow cover. Half a dozen different Summer songs. The awesome power of Wayne Cochran. Dolly doing Cole Porter. A deeper cut from the Eskimo demo. Jay Leno, of all people. A tip of the hat to the late Tuli Kupferburg. And lots of things you’ve never heard before, but which may sound strangely familiar. Groovy grooves throughout. Trust me, you’ll be dancing around the room in no time, if you tune in today from 2 to 4.
You can catch Freeform Purple at its scheduled time at the www.FCCfreeRadio.com website, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm today, California time. Look for the “Tune In” tab. They have a few different players available there for you to stream the programming with. The show is repeated Friday mornings at 2:00 AM.
I guess the new, official, easy way to get the show is to go in through the station’s official webpage for the show, which I believe will be behind this link:
http://www.fccfreeradio.com/?page_id=43
That has various links for downloads, popups, and other playing options – and you can leave me a comment!
If you have a request, please e-mail it to JunglebookMusic@gmail.com . You can also send me any MP3s you think I should hear – best to send just one per e-mail, though.
I really appreciate your listening in. I always do my best to amuse and groove.
I hope you get a chance to tune in.
