UNEEK RADIO Season 5 Ep.6 “LIVE AND DIE FOR HIP-HOP”(Tribute To 90’s)09.19.17

UNEEK RADIO Season 5 Ep.6 “Live And Die For Hip-Hop” (Tribute To 90’s) Whenever anyone brings up hip hop’s golden era, chances are they’re talking about the ’90s. Originating in the Bronx in the 1970s, the genre that would later become a global phenomenon grew substantially in the ’80s and, by the time the ’90s rolled around, had fully matured both artistically and commercially. When you think about hip hop in that decade, two names hover above the rest: 2Pac (“California Love”) and The Notorious B.I.G. (“Hypnotize”). If you’ll recall, though, the ’90s was also a period in which hip hop expanded from being purely a coastal phenomenon. Southern anthems like “Back That Thang Up” by Juvenile and Fiend, Silkk, Mia-X and Mystikal-featured Master P song, “Make Em Say Uhh!,” dominated the charts. Meanwhile, the East and West Coasts held it down with their own distinctive hits, respectively, including Jay-Z’s “Can I Get A…” and Warren G ft. Nate Dogg’s “Regulate.” If any of the aforementioned songs come on right now, in any region, hip hop fans will react. And that acknowledgment likely manifests with head bobbing, rapping along, or dancing.

Since VH1 aired the 2017  Hip-Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers.. It’s only right that UNEEK RADIO pays homage to this dope era of hip-hop & play the music that we all STILL love to listen to. VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors was pretty damn dope!!!  Missy Elliot  opened up the show and it was non-stop hit after hit performances from artists like Lil Kim, Mobb Deep, Warren G, Xscape Da Brat,&Teyana Taylor’s  dance medley to 90’s hip-hop era was definitely on point!! They honored Mariah Carey,Jermaine Dupri, Master P, Hype Williams & Martin Lawrence.. If ya missed it, check out the link:

Fish Burps: Episode 100: 100 Times Better

The program features humor (hopefully), adult language (definitely), intervals of Dan & Doug loving and/or hating one another, complaining, adult themes, adults discussing TV show theme songs,  and Sara rethinking her decision to be a part of this. Listener discretion advised. But, jeez, we’re not your mom. Live your life.

Two life long friends, Dan & Doug, who can barely stand one another wax moronic about their lives, the world and other pointless endeavors. Doug & Dan almost never agree on anything but one of them is always right. Through their very different lenses they will dissect everything and try to figure out what the hell is going on, as if it matters. There will be lively conversations about many topics (TBA), arguments, tiffs, petty bickering, friendship, special guests, not so special guests, intelligence and stupidity. Plus, Sara DeForest. Sara joined the podcast because Dan and Doug wanted a mediator. Turns out that she is more of an instigator, teaming up with one host or the other and encouraging more bickering. Sara also offers a “fresh” perspective, meaning that she hasn’t seen M*A*S*H and is the target for Dan & Doug’s complaints about Millennials. But don’t worry, she doesn’t regret her decision to join the podcast at all. As their fan base grows, so will their power and influence. This will ultimately lead to an enormous fight [hopefully] on air about how to use their new found cache of cultural importance. Sara will use this power to convince her parents that she is in fact funny. Doug will want to use it to get more beer; Dan will want to use it to find the absolutely best pair of pants for his body type. Have a listen before things go horribly wrong.

Stern words from Alexi Lalas regarding the US Men’s National Team! Dick & Vic will react and respond with their hot takes, as well as dissect the state of US Soccer.
