Underground Mayhem With Mike Glendinning-8/4/18. Hearing Loss, Prevention And A Very Cool Way To Lose It.

Underground Mayhem is on every Saturday from 2-4PM PST in studio 2B. Join me, Mike Glendinning, as I play some of your favorite music that you never heard before and talk about things that matter to the creative person trying to get to the next level.

On this episode of Underground Mayhem, we will be having an in-depth talk about music, life, success, and music with Musicians Ed Ivey and Kathy Peck.

Kathy Peck is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of H.E.A.R. as well as a bass player, singer, music composer, music producer, and music publisher. Kathy was an original member of the successful San Francisco punk band, TheContractions. The all-female band was a major part of the San Francisco music scene. Unfortunately, Kathy suffered damage to her hearing and her music career was cut short. Loud music exposure from excessive volume aggravated Kathy’s hearing loss and tinnitus.
Now, Kathy directs her energies and talents full force into the education of children, teens, and young adults. She wants them to learn how to enjoy the music without damaging their hearing. Because of Kathy’s work, H.E.A.R. is recognized around the world by the music and medical communities, by teachers, parents, and caring individuals wishing to support its goals.
Ed Ivey is no stranger to the Bay Area Music scene. From the company, Bay Area Booking to playing Tuba in The North Beach Brass Band, Mr. Ivey is a very busy and diverse musician. He played bass on one of my favorite CD’s that came out of the early 2000’s, The Faraway Brothers, with Eric McFadden, and Paulo Baldi.
The Underground MayhemPodcast tries to cover the music creators of yesterday, today and tomorrow. So, listen in and see if we have something for you.
And be sure to check out the second podcast that I have with fellow FCCFREE Rado hosts JayAustinn Graham, Luke Ryan Sauer, And Zee Ziz called Wreckless Intent.
